The warning signs
- A sudden, unexplained drop in your Buy Box percentage or unit sales.
- A new seller name appearing under "Other Sellers on Amazon".
- Negative reviews mentioning packaging, quality, or authenticity you do not recognize.
- Your price appearing lower than what you actually set.
- Customer messages about products that are not yours.
How to confirm it
Open your listing in an incognito window and check the "Other Sellers" and "New & Used" offers. If you see a seller you did not authorize offering your product, you have a hijacker. Note their seller name, storefront link, and price — you will need this evidence later.
Do a test buy if you can
A test buy from the unauthorized seller is the single most powerful piece of evidence. It lets you document counterfeit packaging, missing safety information, or a product that simply is not yours — the foundation of a strong infringement claim.
